hello, this is my page full of things i learned about bushcraft

random tree fax

cut a tree a few inches above the budding (im in springtime where i , so thats what im referring to.) then plant it upside down in the ground, buds in the dirt, stick up. cut towards the sun.

pine trees

make sure the pine needles you are using are actual pine needles, and not a similar looking tree. it could cause serious health problems if you utilize the wrong tree... that being said: pine trees are super awesome. you can use the thinner roots at the top of the soil for a twine. you just dig in a little bit, pull it out, cut it off. then pull it apart in half, down the center, making two thinner sections of rope.

another use is to cut the needles and use it with boiling water, as a tea. has loads of good stuff in there. ask your doctor first, or whatever. please remember, im just a cat using the internet.

also, if you cut the pine-needles in half and then rub them on your clothes, i heard it could be a good mosquito repellent. unsure if that applies to the pine needles in the tropics/africa. which, if it is, could be a great deterrent for malaria spread.

you can add pine needles to your fire as another deterrent for mosquitos

i also heard something about "fatwood" from pine trees being useful to build fire. you should google that. i have no idea. but its an interesting lead for you to follow up on. im gonna look into it too.

enriching soil

use old rotten plant bits to enrich your soil. dont put them in a container. just put them in like a pot of dirt and let them rot naturally. let them get air and sun. sludge is no good for plants i guess. whodaknown?

if you have food stamps in america, a lot of walmarts sellf live parsley plants and other herb plants in their grocery place, near the veggies. you can also get the fresh veggies and stuff and try to utilize the seeds or cuttings to propogate (or make) more plants in pits of dirt. potatoes are good for that, ive heard

if you live on bad ground for gardening, i heard you can make a raised garden bed from wood, like a frame. make it a bit taller than usual, because this one guy got tree branches and stuff to put on the "floor" of the garden bed, then put dirt over it, then planted. helped keep the soil nice with the underlying tree stuffs. i think it had a composting effect.
